Day 63 Tuesday May 25
Left Burns, got diesel first, heading west on US 20. At Bend we headed north on US 97. Boy has this area grown. Really messy drive from Bend to Redmond. Spent the night at Mountain View RV park in Metolius space 21. Finally warm, about 70 and very little wind. Drove 170 miles today.
Day 64 Wednesday May 26 40258
Left Metolius OR and continued north on US 97 to I 84. Drove west to I 205 at Portland and went north to I-5 exiting at Ridgefield. Spent the night there.
Day 65 Thursday May 27
Left Ridgefield, WA and headed north on I-5 to US 101 west. Made it home to Shelton early in the day.
Trip Summary
We drove the motor home 3013 miles on the trip. It averaged 9.2 mpg, which is not too bad considering the weight of an additional 600 pounds of rocks and driving mostly back roads with steep hills where the motor home was in lower gears compared to the freeway.
We had a great time being together, sightseeing and rock hounding. Wheee, ready to go again in the Fall.
