Slept in. After lunch we went looking for dripless candles again. No luck. We drove to the beach along A1A and then back home.
Day 116 Friday December 16
We got up early to go to Key West but decided to see if we could get an appointment for Judy to try get a definitive diagnosis about her back pain. So after doing that, we went to look for candles and groceries. Finally we settled the candle search. Ate lunch. Judy messed around the house and I got out some rock stuff and worked on some beach shells from South Carolina.
Day 117 Saturday December 17
Wow what a nice day. We went to the Everglades National Park.
We saw different egrets, many alligators, many anhingas, blue herons, green herons, white herons, gallinules, and fish such as gar and bass. Unfortunately, we did not make it all the way through the park. What we saw was spectacular. Got home late and had tuna noodle casserole and broccoli. Temperature was in the high 70’s with a very slight wind. Lots of nice pictures.
Day 118 Sunday December 18
Today we got our stuff ready to go to Merida, Mexico. Did a little laundry and packed the bags. I got out my rock drill and drilled some holes in some of the shell pendants. Judy fussed in the motor home. We are ready. We have tried to reduce the amount of food in the refrigerator. While the fridge will be left on, we did not want perishable stuff left in there for 10 days.
Day 119 Monday December 19
Today we got every thing ready to go to Merida. Also went back to Michael’s craft store to get some more yarn for Judy and some small bags for my shell jewelry. Later in the day we moved the motor home into the storage area and set up. The motor home will be safe until we return. We with then stay here a few days before heading out. Good Chinese stir fry for dinner.
